Sending out the messengers, using everyone,
the Lord will have His way with us,
as He has with other ones.

The Lord will find the gossipers
to use for His delight,
spreading the word by day,
spreading the word by night.

He’ll find the lowly, lazy ones
and light a fire for them,
so they’ll become the eager ones
and never rest again.

Until the word has spread
as far as it can go,
about the love of Jesus,
and the love that He will show.

He’ll continue to prod us
and show us the way to go,
until everyone we know has heard
the spreading of the word.
