Many years I have wondered why
`Tis heaven seems to be in the sky
The joy and peace of gazing above . . .
The clouds pass by, so slow and sure
As if they know, God’s love is pure.
They let down their tear drops of love,
To wash the earth pure, from heaven above.
Many years I have wondered why
God seems to ignore my lonely cry,
For just a sign of His undying love,
A simple sign from high above.
I plead and beg and search my soul,
Wondering what can fill the empty hole.
The loneliness and crying, from deep within,
Will I get an answer, sent by Him?
Many years I have wondered why . . .
Should I even continue to try?
Then a heavenly light shines down on me
And send the love that sets me free!
Many years I have wondered why
And now I know why I try.
It’s for eternity, with His love,
The love that’s sent from heaven above.
